I’m Steven Ponec. It’s nice to meet you. I love life. I have always been a really energetic person! But my energies didn’t used to be put in the right direction. All through school, I was obsessed with grades and getting straight A’s. It got so bad that I burnt myself out. I was working so hard every day that I would have nervous breakdowns. But, I erroneously thought that my personality dictated that I liked things in boxes. I loved planning. I loved being anal about everything. And it showed. My relationship with my family wasn’t good. I never took responsibility for my anger, and as a result, lashed out at family members when they made annoying noises.
That had to change at some point. And it did. You know when it started to change? That’s right – when I read about personal development. My first interest was in meditation. I loved how calm and focused I felt during the day after meditating. Even now, on days I don’t do some form of yoga, meditation, walking meditation, or exercise I feel like something isn’t right.

But, this blog is not about my past shortcomings. I’ve learned a lot in the past year. The biggest thing I have learned? Freedom is important. If money brings freedom, fine. If living without money, housesitting to find places to live, and growing your own food is freedom, then fine.

Right now though, I am on a journey. My journey is to make money with passive income. I would have thought in the past it’s too good to be true. I don’t know how much I want to make during the day yet. I don’t really know “enough”. Because, this passive income is not for money. This money is for travel. The biggest goal I have right now is having this passive income be sustainable, so that I can buy an RV and live all over the united states. In the future, I will become a nomad of the world. But for now – one step at a time.

I hope you will follow me on this journey! The focus of the blog won’t be on passive income. I like to learn, research, read, listen to music, and do anything to get my brain stimulated. The focus of this blog will be on freedom, in any way shape or form. While I do enjoy breaking out of the 9-5 stories, that’s not what this story is about. This story is about finding what personal freedom is for me, and what it is for you. I will most likely talk about food, passion, finances, photography, music and other topics, and how I use them for freedom.

Every time life gives you a roadblock or you come across a difficulty, it is a test of your patience. Overcoming that roadblock makes you that much stronger. Don’t read about becoming extraordinary. Start climbing that mountain of awesomeness that never ends. Ascend to the top of the planet. And most importantly, stay excited about what you are doing. If it becomes a total and absolute drag, you have the CHOICE, the freedom to change your situation. Like Kirk from the new Star Trek movie said, “I don’t believe in no-win situations”

  1. I am with you. I’ve always been a follower, doing what everyone seemed to think was “right”. But now I’m learning that if we don’t create our own rules and live for ourselves, then no one else will do it for us. My goal is similar to yours, to create passive income, or at least create income from doing something I love, rather than from some mundane career that doesn’t fulfill me. Really, my goal is freedom, and to be in charge of my self. I look forward to reading more in the future!
